To guarantee total objectivity and professional integrity, the Lisbon bychefs ranking is governed by a transparent mathematical model that isolates pure excellence from commercial influence.

The Weighted Vote
Our ranking is led by the votes of the chefs. Each juror nominates ten establishments, ranked from 1 to 10 places. Points are distributed on a descending scale: a 1st place nomination earns 10 points, while a 10th place nomination earns 1 point.

Self-Nomination Restrictions
To maintain the highest standards of impartiality, if a juror chooses to include their own establishment, it is restricted exclusively to position 10 (1 point).

Institutional Safeguards
To avoid corporate or group bias, no more than 20% of a juror's vote may consist of establishments in their own hospitality group. In addition, these internal nominations are only allowed at positions 9 and 10, ensuring that the upper echelons of the ranking continue to be a reflection of pure peer recognition.

The jury consists of more than 60 active executive chefs and culinary directors, selected for their mandate, technical expertise and contribution to the global gastronomic dialogue.
