Alexandre Silva

Chef Alexandre Silva is a Michelin-starred Portuguese chef currently runs two distinct concepts in Lisbon: LOCO, his 22-seat author cuisine restaurant which earned a Michelin star just eight months after opening in 2016, and FOGO, a traditional Portuguese grill and wood-fired oven restaurant that opened in December 2019.

After training at Lisbon's Tourism and Hospitality School, Silva won Portugal's first Top Chef competition in 2012, which led to a stage at the legendary El Celler de Can Roca in Spain. He has since helmed prestigious kitchens including Bica do Sapato before opening his own ventures.

LOCO's rapid Michelin star placed him among the few chefs worldwide to achieve this so quickly. FOGO celebrates Portugal's rich culinary heritage, reviving traditional wood-fired cooking techniques and honoring the authentic flavours of Portuguese grandmothers' kitchens.
