Shay Ola
Shay Ola is a culinary nomad, experimental chef, and founder of Prodigal Culinary Studios—a self-taught enigma who forged an unconventional path through Europe's conceptual dining scene.
From music video director to interior designer, the 2008 financial crisis pivoted him toward supper clubs. What began as a temporary measure became a passion: hosting bespoke dining events from intimate gatherings to immersive experiences for 300 guests.
He authored Mexican cookbook "Death by Burrito," worked with Jamie Oliver's Food Tube, featured on Vice Munchies' Chef's Night Out, and became the face of Tanqueray Gin—photographed by legendary Rankin. Monocle's Book of Portugal recently profiled his work.
Based in Lisbon for nine years, he opened Queimado, a neighbourhood fire-cooking restaurant focused on seasonal local produce, and ROVE, a vinyl shop–cocktail bar. He consults for clients including Calma and Possible World.
