Chef Vítor Adão is a Portuguese chef, leading PLANO—one of Lisbon's most acclaimed restaurants.
Born in a small village near Chaves in 1990, his earliest memories are of community tables, shared harvests, and artisans crafting enchidos. At 14, he entered cooking school, later training at Mirandela's hospitality school where he would eventually teach. He staged at DOC, DOP, Ocean, Vila Joya, and London's 45 Park Lane under Wolfgang Puck.
Between 2016–2018, he served as executive chef for the 100 Maneiras group. In 2019, he launched the popular pop-up Izakaya Tokkuri and became curator for Tabernas do Alto Tâmega.
That August, he opened PLANO—his first solo project. It has earned Michelin Guide listing since 2022, "Restaurant of the Year 2024", Repsol Guide 2025 recommendation, and "Revelation Restaurant 2020". In 2024, he received AHRESP's Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Paixão Pelo Vinho's Revelation Chef awards.
