Kau Pastrami House Lisboa

At Kau Pastrami House, the star of the show is a sandwich worth waiting for. Located in the Saldanha district, this intimate spot has quickly become a cult favorite in Lisbon, drawing daily lines that form before its 12 PM opening and often sell out by 2 PM.

Behind the project is Rui Matias, who traveled to the United States to master the art of traditional Texas barbecue before bringing his skills home to Portugal.

Time is the essential ingredient here. Every beef brisket, imported directly from Colorado, undergoes a 21-day curing process before it's ready to serve. The meat is seasoned simply—only salt, pepper, and garlic—allowing the quality of the beef and the patient craft to speak for themselves.
