André Magalhães
Chef André Magalhães is a multifaceted culinary figure who currently leads "A Mesa do CAM," the new restaurant at Lisbon's Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation's Modern Arts Center. He founded the celebrated "Taberna da Rua das Flores" and, during the pandemic, helped revive two Lisbon institutions: the 1870 "Quiosque de São Paulo" and iconic "A Antiga Camponesa" (runner-up Best New Opening 2023).
As a consultant, he implemented a Sustainable Food Programme at São Tomé's Omali Lodge. A food journalist and FIJEV member, he's an international wine/olive oil judge and won a "Taster Trophy" at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. André holds a post-grad in Food Science, teaches at UNL/ISA, and was named "Personality of the Year in Gastronomy 2015" by Wine Magazine Portugal. A former film producer and sailor, he now forages and champions Slow Food principles.
